A 10-Day Retreat into the Heart of Christ Consciousness.

SAMI AWAD

YOUR GUIDE AND SPIRITUAL FACILITATOR

Join Sami Awad, author of The Sacred Awakening, for a 10-day retreat designed for those ready to move beyond institutional religion and into the radical, transformative path of Christ Consciousness. Born and raised in the landscape where these teachings first emerged, Sami does not offer theology from a distance. He offers a way of "walking the land" that mirrors the "inner terrain" of the soul—inviting us to see the Holy Land not as a political tragedy or a religious relic, but as a mirror for our own collective awakening.

Sami Awad currently serves as Co-Director of Nonviolence International. He is based in Bethlehem, Palestine where he has been a leading advocate of nonviolent resistance to occupation and inspirational leader for building a shared future of Palestinians and Israelis based on equality and human rights. Sami founded the Holy Land Trust in 1995 to work for a nonviolent future of Palestinian justice. Sami leads training and education programs on nonviolence that include a focus on trauma resilience and leadership development.

the journey: From religion to consciousness

The purpose of this retreat is to move from knowing about the teachings of Jesus to embodying the way of Jesus. We will navigate the beauty and the brokenness of this land as a spiritual practice, learning to stay present in the face of the "shadow"—both in the world and within ourselves.

This is an unlearning. It is a space to dismantle the false identities and inherited traumas that keep us divided, and to reclaim the "Jesus Way" as a blueprint for nonviolence, radical love, and inner freedom.

The Practice: A Living Beatitude

At the center of our 10 days is a deep, rhythmic exploration of the Beatitudes. Rather than moral ideals to achieve, Sami facilitates the Beatitudes as a series of "inner movements." We will sit in the silence of the desert to find what it means to be "poor in spirit."

We will stand in the tension of modern-day realities to practice "the ministry of presence.

We will move through the land to experience the softening of the heart that leads to true peacemaking.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This retreat is designed for depth, not distance. Our days are marked by:

  • Contemplative Silence: Spacious time to listen to the "still, small voice" beneath the noise of the world.
  • Embodied Dialogue: Group reflections that bypass performance and move straight to the heart of our shared humanity.
  • Sacred Activism: Learning how inner healing becomes the foundation for outward justice.
  • Grounded Solitude: Time for journaling and personal integration amidst the ancient stones and living waters of the region.

is this Retreat for you?

This pilgrimage is for the seeker who feels a "sacred ache"—the sense that their spiritual life is meant to be lived, not just managed. It is for those comfortable with the "gray areas," those drawn to the intersection of mysticism and activism, and those ready to be changed by the land they walk upon.

If you are ready to let the teachings of the Sacred Awakening walk through you, we invite you to join us.
